Mercator ERP anticipates PEPPOL electronic invoicing

PEPPOL electronic invoicing will become mandatory across Belgium for B2B and B2G in October 2023. Mercator ERP is taking the lead by integrating the PEPPOL network today with the help of Digiteal. What is PEPPOL?

We often hear about it without really knowing what it is. However, PEPPOL will become the standard for electronic invoicing in B2B and B2G (Business-to-Government) from next year.
PEPPOL stands for Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line. It is a framework set up by the European Commission with a view to generalising electronic invoicing and e-procurement. To put it simply, PEPPOL acts as an address book that organises the sending of electronic invoices from one machine to another. It is designed to dematerialise commercial transactions between public authorities and their suppliers, including invoicing. But that’s not all: B2B will also be affected from 1 October 2023.

As an integrator, what is the impact of PEPPOL on my B2B customers?

Do your customers issue invoices of more than €30,000 or invoice in B2G (Business to Government)? From October 1, 2023, they will be required to use electronic invoicing according to the PEPPOL standard. To do so, they will need to be able to connect to the network by joining one of the certified access points, such as Digiteal.
